Ali Akoglu is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a member of the BIO5 Institute at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on domain specific computing systems, including adaptive resource management for heterogeneous platforms and the design of reconfigurable and neuromorphic architectures for high performance and energy efficient computing. He has led the development of open-source compiler integrated runtimes and memory management frameworks that unify CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and neuromorphic accelerators to function as an integrated heterogeneous system. His work has been central to the projects funded by major DARPA programs, including Space-BACN, DSSoC, PROWESS and NGEST. He is the recipient of the College of Engineering’s Excellence at the Student Interface award in 2022 and 2024.
